Launching in 2020, the first official Locksmith Qualification governed by Ofqual is now available within the industry, with Keytek® being one of the first in the country able to offer this course. Having a diploma (Qualification) in Locksmithing means that you have proven your skills to the highest standards available within the industry and over several months. It will also ensure you are one step ahead of the game if the Locksmith industry becomes regulated and you can assure your customers of your expertise in the field.


Who are Ofqual?

Ofqual are the official government office of Qualifications and Examinations in England. They are responsible for regulating qualifications and ensuring that compliance is met through all qualifications available in England.


Who are Highfield?

Highfield are a global leader in compliance and work-based learning qualifications and one of the UK’s most recognisable awarding organisations. The Keytek® Locksmith Training Academy is an approved centre with Highfield meaning it has passed the many tests to get to this stage and is qualified to offer this brand new course. Keytek® has worked with Highfield and are proud to be offering an additional 4 Keytek® units for this Qualification meaning it is the most robust course on the market today.

Up until recently, an Accreditation was the highest level of certificate that you could obtain in the Locksmith industry, with Keytek® offering the highest Accreditation in a Level 4. Having an Accreditation means that you are trained by professionals and have proven skills in order to obtain a certificate. Not only will you be able to sub-contract for Keytek® once you complete an NCFE Accredited course will also be an advantage when looking to sub-contract for other locksmiths. By completing a NCFE accredited course you will be armed with the skills and knowledge to embark on your new career.


Who are the NCFE?

The NCFE is a national Awarding Organisation, they design, develop and certificate nationally recognised qualifications. The NCFE offers over 500 qualifications and has been regulating industry’s for over 150 years. Within the locksmithing industry they are one of the most highly respected and sort after awarding organisations and Keytek® are proud to offer a level 4 course which is accredited by the NCFE (the highest accreditation you can achieve). An NCFE approved course aims to provide you with an in-depth knowledge of the locksmith trade and enable you to start a successful career in locksmithing once you leave the Keytek® Locksmith Academy.
