Health & Safety Training Levels 1, 2 & 3
Health and safety in the workplace is vital whatever your field of work may be in, especially as the HSE reports that 600,000 non-fatal accidents take place in the UK each year costing the UK economy a huge £15 billion every year. As a Locksmith it is important that you are aware of health and safety in the workplace not only to protect yourself but your customers and any staff you may employ. By being aware of the risks in your workplace you can minimize these risks and avoid any costs associated with injuries that occurred within.
There are three health and safety courses available to you; they are health and safety levels 1, 2 and 3. Each of these courses will provide you with a good understanding of health and safety in your workplace, below we layout the elements of each of these three levels.
Health and Safety Level 1
This course will introduce you to health and safety in the workplace and is great awareness training for those of you who work in a low-risk environment. Health and Safety Level 1 requires no prior knowledge to undertake and will take you around 1-2 hours to complete, on successful completion you will be able to download an e-learning certificate. Health and Safety Level 2
This course is for those of you who work in a low to medium risk environment, as a Locksmith this may mean you are working on not just domestic properties but commercial and bailiff properties also. There are nine units in the level 2 course and will take you approximately 1-2 hours to complete, more information on the Health and Safety Level 2 course is available by clicking the image below.
Health and Safety Level 3
The highest level health and safety course available is the level 3 course. This course is aimed at those who are in management, supervisory or are the company’s health and safety leader. As a Locksmith you may already have your own business with a fleet of Locksmiths working for you or plan to and so this course is best suited to you. This course covers not only understanding of health and safety in the workplace but health and safety law and how to implement steps in order to minimise the risks. There are 11 modules on the level 3 course which will take you between 6-9 hours to complete, with a downloadable e-certificate available upon successful completion.
