The Complete Keytek Accredited Course
The 4 Day ‘Keytek™ Accredited Course’ is recognised as one of the leading locksmith courses within the industry. Tailored towards newcomers to the locksmith profession, this widely respected and in-depth course encompasses the essential foundation skills required to operate as an effective locksmith; whether working with Keytek™ Locksmiths as an approved sub contractor within our ‘National Engineer Network’, or within your own locksmith business.
Course Breakdown…
Over the four day period of the course, you will be taught locksmith techniques covering the identification, operation, opening techniques (including picking) and fitting of the following lock types:
- Cylinders – Euro, Oval and Rim
- Backsets – Standard, British Standard and Specialist
- Mortice Locks – 2, 3 and 5 lever with British Standards, including Sash Locks
- uPVC Doors – Locks and Mechanisms, including fault identification and replacement

The Complete Level 4 Accredited Course
On successful completion of the 5 Day Course you will be awarded with a Level 4 NCFE Certificate in Locksmithing. This course covers all aspects of the Keytek™ Accredited Course with the benefit of an additional day including NCFE accreditation assessment, skill enhancement sessions and a ‘Locksmith Tool Kit’, which is essential to any working locksmith in order to provide an effective and professional service!

The Level 4 Accredited ‘Experience Package’ Course
Our eight day course will not only provide you will a comprehensive understanding and practical application of locksmith techniques, you will be awarded a Level 4 NCFE Certificate in Locksmithing, the Locksmith Tool Kit, as well as benefit from three days of real life scenario training fashioned from real life scenario’s encountered within the ‘Keytek™ Engineer Network’ (over 200 engineers throughout the UK) providing you with the full range of customer care skills required by effective and successful Engineers. This is then further enhanced by Academy students shadowing experienced Keytek™ approved locksmith Engineers on live jobs where the whole of an actual customer job is viewed from receiving the job details, arriving on site, and customer care throughout the identification and addressing of the specific customer requirement through to resolution.

Additional Information
Skill Enhancement Sessions
Skill Enhancement Sessions are available within both the 5 and 8 day Courses, these one on one sessions will be able to be used as time to develop your techniques as a locksmiths, it will give you the opportunity to hone your skills and to go back over anything you have learnt over the previous week.
Real Life Scenario Training
These training sessions are conducted within the practical training areas of the Academy, where commonly found scenarios will be played out. Using your new skills you will be faced with several different scenarios that any mobile locksmith will encounter whilst out on the road. These may include:
- Various scenarios to gain entry to uPVC and wooden doors following a lock out, using a wide variety of techniques
- Following a break in, offering relevant security advise to the customer
- Upgrading home security, including doors and windows
- Removing snapped keys from a variety of locks
- Identifying faults on uPVC mechanisms and ordering replacement parts
- Gaining entry to a vehicle, when keys have been lost or locked inside
On-site Locksmith Shadowing
This is a unique opportunity to shadow an experienced locksmith on the road whilst he completes Keytek™ customer jobs, giving you an insight into the types of jobs that you will come across on a daily basis as a locksmith, witnessing first hand the techniques that you will have learnt being put into practice. This is also an ideal time to ask any questions to the locksmith that you may want to ask.
The Keytek™ Foundation Course
The Keytek™ Foundation Course is aimed at professionals who already have experiance fitting and upgrading locks to woodern doors, alternatively maybe someone who has previously done a Locksmith course but has not carried out locksmith work out on the road at all or for a long time and has possibly lost confidence.
